The Stimulus-Response Trap

On the “Process Evaluations” tab of the HR Contrarian website, I reference an article that I read about the behavioral scientist, B.F, Skinner. The article stated that Skinner spent his entire life conducting experiments on birds and rodents, but applied all his findings and wrote all his books about people.

HR CONTRARIAN POINTER: When trying to think up ways to engage employees, do not fall into the simple stimulus-response trap that obviously works well with animals. People are a lot more complex than birds, dogs, and rodents.
