OSHA Delays Electronic Recordkeeping Rule

OSHA announced on 5/17/17, that it will delay indefinitely
the implementation of the Electronic Recordkeeping Rule.

This delay does not mean that employers do not have to
continue to maintain OSHA Forms 300, 300A, and 301. It
simply means that the data from these forms do not have to
be submitted via an online OSHA portal.

Even though this deadline was only 6 weeks away, OSHA did
not even have a portal available for such submissions.

After Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta gets comfortable in
his new rule and an OSHA Director is in place, we will
have a better idea about the fate of this Rule.
