We can now send the proposed EEO-1 report changes
to File 13.
On 8/29/17, the Trump Administration eliminated the
requirement scheduled for implementation in the spring of
2018 that would have required companies to report salary
by gender and ethnicity.
The Trump Administration has been rolling back a number of
Obama Administration rules. This particular rule would
have proven to be very burdensome for businesses.
The objective of the rule was designed at eliminating pay
discrimination by gender and ethnicity. Unfortunately,
collecting aggregate data in this fashion will do little
if anything to prevent compensation discrimination.
In situations where women and minorities are discriminated
against based on compensation, a detailed analysis of the
situation is the only way to identify the structural
systems that inhibit equal pay.
